October Night

Looking for a new star on a cool October night
Diamond-ice-fire on its lonely solo flight.
Tell me not to wish on it, never let me believe in it
Never let me fall on this cool October night.

I searched for that star all through my life
Looked through skeleton trees
Impaled my heart on a white picket fence
And felt the chilly autumn breeze.

Echoes of a dying summer
Spent beneath the warm, warm sun
And the fading of desire
For a love spent on the run.

- doomsday
